Phoenix Coyotes

Founded / Joined: 1972 / 1979

Championships: 0

History:

In 1972, the franchise was founded as the original Winnipeg Jets of the World Hockey Association. The club later moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1996 to become the Phoenix Coyotes.

Overview:

The Phoenix Coyotes, a team two years removed from a Western Conference Finals appearance, will look to return to form in the 2013/14 season. The Coyotes have quietly built a very solid franchise led by captain Shane Doan, Martin Hanzal, newly acquired Mike Ribeiro, Radim Vrbata, Keith Yandle, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, and coach Dave Tippett. Mike Smith will return in between the pipes for Phoenix. Expect a better season from the Yotes as they should be hovering around the last few playoff spots this season.

How to Play as the Coyotes:

The Coyotes have many underrated, unknown talents which include; Vrbata, Martin Hanzal, Mikkel Boedker, and Antoine Vermette. These players will generate a lot of good opportunities along with the likely suspects of Keith Yandle, Shane Doan, and Mike Ribeiro. Mike Smith will be a solid backstop for you while playing as Phoenix in NHL 14.

Fun Fact:

The Coyotes mascot, Howler, has his own website and wears number 96 on his jersey, which is the year the Coyotes moved from Winnipeg in 1996.
